WHEN I LIVED

WHEN I LIVED
WHEN I LIVED
Lazily sitting on your bed facing the adjacent garden, looking at the greens, and feeling the gentle breeze caressing your skin, the song of a naughty bird catches your attention...
You have your mobile in hand yet you do not rush to capture that moment in your camera... to make its presence felt on Facebook or Insta...
That is the moment when I truly lived.

Driving on the highway, listening to the music you love, the exotic hues in the sky catch your attention... you do not rush to capture the moment in between the shutter speed and aperture... stare it a little longer instead... just being engulfed in the sheer bliss of that beauty...
That is the moment when I truly lived.

You love to read.. You indulge in reading online and offline... You read inspiring quotes and you read profound poems... But you do not cut copy-paste to share them all on your feeds... You get soaked in the words of wisdom... You dive deeper into the sea of learnings...
That is the moment when I truly lived.

Worship idols in your temple or practicing something profound becomes a part of the list of tasks to perform in your day...rushing from one chore to another losing ourselves somewhere in between... But when you hold on your restlessness... Stillness starts drilling deep in you... that day then you offer flowers to the idols in the temple, light the Diya and the incenses... And you choose to sit and do nothing at all... Simply close your eyes and feel your presence ... You embrace the warmth of the Diya on your skin and the fragrance of the incense wrapping all around... with closed eyes, you talk to the divine as a friend sitting with you on a mountain cliff... Sharing concerns and listening to infinite suggestions...
That is the moment when I truly lived.

You are winding up your to-do list for the day... You receive a call that shares the demise of someone you truly cared for ... You feel the shock growing into deep sadness, grief, and remorse... You shed tears and slowly start to howl in the dark... Feeling your body melt and finding it difficult to catch even a breath... Yet you do not post a picture of the lost soul on social media to express your loss...
That is the moment when I truly lived.
